Standard Name Radio Equipment Used for TDMA Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications
General Description

The standard specifies on the radio equipment for the radio station used in TDMA digital enhanced cordless telecommunications which is one of the digital cordless telecommunications.

Among the radio equipment used in digital cordless telecommunications defined in the Article 6 of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Law, this standard specifies on the radio equipment for the radio station used in TDMA Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) specified in Article 49-8-2-2 of the Ordinance Regulating Radio Equipment. This standard in part refers the method of DECT by ETSI standard.

In light of the increasing demand for the DECT system and the termination of public PHS services in the same frequency band at the end of March 2023, frequency allocation and related regulations have been reviewed. In response to these regulation changes, this standard was revised.

2.1 04.23.2021

Reflected the revisions of regulations by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, in which the sXGP frequency band was added to the band adjacent to DECT frequency band, and the requirements for communication between handsets of DECT digital cordless telephones were relaxed.

At the same time, Exceptional program for experiments using equipment that has not acquired the technical conformity certification was added as ANNEX4.

2.0 01.22.2018

In order to respond to the increasing demand, improve convenience, and enable new usage patterns such as IoT, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has revised the regulations.

Specifically, the carrier frequency used was added, the rules for antenna power were reviewed, the conditions for sharing with self-employed PHS were reviewed, and the rules for interconnection were revised.

Revision is made to add a carrier number which is given to its operating frequency.

1.2 12.18.2012

Revision is made to add a carrier frequency allocation table based on the technical reference in Japan for the interconnection between a main phone and a cordless handset of the different model.

Revision is made to add a letter concerning the method for using the trademark and the logo of ETSI recommended by ETSI (ETSI Collective Letter, 1943), which is desirable to refer to when examining the labelling of the products adapted to this ARIB Standard as informative references.
