General Description

This standard specifies the test signal “S” to measure the transmission characteristics of MUSE-FM signal delivery and reception system in Hi-vision satellite broadcasting specified by “Standard System for Transmission regarding High Definition Television Broadcasting” (No. 16 of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications ordinance in 1991).

This standard is applied to the test signal measuring the transmission characteristics of MUSE-FM signals from the input of an FM modulator (the output of a MUSE encoder) to the output of a tuner (the input of a decoder).

With the end of high-definition television broadcasting (excluding digital broadcasting), the standard transmission method for high-definition television broadcasting (excluding digital broadcasting) (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Ordinance No. 16, 1991) was abolished (enforced on June 30, 2011) based on the Ministerial Ordinance (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Ordinance No. 60, 2011) that abolished the standard transmission method for high-definition television broadcasting (excluding digital broadcasting).

After sufficient transitional measures, this standard was withdrawn.
