General Description

This standard specifies the provision for mono-media coding system, multimedia encoding method and data transmission method for data broadcasting of digital broadcasting.

Specified multimedia encoding method in this standard, in the former Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Technology Council digital broadcasting system Committee Report of 21 July,1999, it was formulated by receiving the guidelines of "It is desirable to be standardized to flexible in the private standardization organization, for multimedia encoding method, based on a system of a XML base, for detail information".

Revision of the Volume 1 is the correction of the clerical error of the provisions of the character encoding scheme that is defined in Part 2. The part of the Chinese characters that are defined in the JIS X0213:2004, in the Universal Multiple‐Octet Coded Character Set(UCS) is Assigned to the area of 2 or more bytes of code values. In STD-B24, In order to use these characters to a receiver that can not only handle the sign value of 2 bytes or less, although The re-allocation to the private area of the code values are specified in Table 7-21, due to an error in the code values of two letters in the table 7-21 is intended to correct the mistakes.

In Volume 1 Part 2 the character encoding scheme defined, change of the reference standard due to be ISO / IEC standard of Universal Multiple‐Octet Coded Character Set(UCS) has been revised and revised to be consistent with the revised additional Chinese characters and symbols ISO / IEC standard. In this revision, in the volume 1 the revision of the cover and the list of IPR, replacement version due to some revisions in the volume 2 (1/2) and the volume 2 (2/2), it was completely revised in the volume 3.
