1. Overview

STD Number ARIB STD-B68
Standard Name Time Code Format in the Interface for UHDTV Production Systems
Enactment Date 12.03.2015
General Description

This standard specifies data structure and multiplexing method for timecode transmission in the interface of studio equipment for the ultra-high definition television (UHDTV) signal.

Data structure is a packet structure of 64 bits which is called time information packet, and time code data is transmitted in progressive scanning system of which video frame frequency is 60Hz or 60/1.001Hz. There are user data words (UDW) in the structure of time information packet, and three kinds of data in UDW: time code data, time information data identification code 1 (DBB1) and time information data identification code 2 (DBB2) are specified.
