Standard Name Colour Bar Test Pattern for Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) High Dynamic Range Television (HDR-TV) System
General Description

This standard specifies the colour bar as the reference signal of the HDR images in the HLG system which is specified by ARIB standard STD-B67.


In this standard, the 100% luminance signal pattern is added to the top of the colour bar based on the simplified pattern layout of STD-B66, and the code value for the HDR images is specified.


English version of this standard is official, as it is expected to be referred to by international standards.

・Video signal level waveform display and vectorscope display when the color bar video signal (HLG / BT.2020 color gamut) specified by this standard is directly mapped to the SDR / BT.709 color gamut video signal.

・List of 10-bit code values before and after mapping of each R, G, B channel that composes the color bar pattern.

In order to correspond with the widespread use of HDR, the following revisions are implemented.


・Clarification of the definition about the colour bar ramp waveform.


・Attachment of the HLG colour bar images which correspond to all video formats for the broadcasting systems specified in Japan.
