Overview of ARIB Standards (STD-T73)

1. Overview

STD Number ARIB STD-T73
Standard Name Sensors for Detecting Or Measuring Mobile Objects for Specified Low Power Radio Station
General Description

This Standard specifies the radio equipment operated with sensors for detecting or measuring mobile objects (mainly in order to perceive the status of a moving person or a body, and acquire the information related (existence, location, movement or dimension, etc. of objects) in high accuracy for the radio location service) among the specified low power radio stations defined in the Article 6 of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act.

2. Amendment History

Ver. Amendment or Enactment Date Amendment summary
3.0 04.08.2022

Made necessary revisions such as the addition of the pulse amplitude modulation and the modification of the limit on secondary radiated emissions, corresponding to the development of the institutional framework by Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

In addition, as the modulation method of the wireless equipment was added, this revision was major and the version number was changed to 3.0.

2.0 09.28.2020

Revised to be in line with the regulatory revision by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication to support the use of motion sensors which enable manipulation by detecting hand movements, as well as biological information sensors.

Changed the configuration; named the previous contents as Part 1, and added as Part 2 the standard for the radio equipment using the frequencies higher than 57GHz and 64GHz or less, without the need for carrier sense.

1.2 09.25.2012

The regulation for the radio equipment of the low power radio system was revised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (Amendments of Ordinance Regulating Radio Equipment, etc. March 2012) in accordance with the result of reviewing the upper limit of antenna power for the low power radio system (non-licensed station) based on the amendment of the Radio Act (Act No.131 1950) which was included in the partial amendment of the Broadcast Act (Act No.65 2010).

Therefore, this Standard was revised as Ver.1.2 for the necessary changes of specifications according to the above regulation revision by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

1.1 11.30.2005 This Ver.1.1 revision is prepared for the definition of spurious emission, etc., the permissible value, interim measures, measurement method, etc. in accordance with the amendment of the technical regulations for the permissible value of the spurious emission intensity.
