1. Overview

STD Number ARIB STD-T83
Standard Name Low Power Data Communication Systems/Broadband Mobile Access Communication System (HiSWANb)
Enactment Date 11.27.2002
General Description

This standard specifies the radio equipment for the 25GHz band broadband access system (HiSWANb: High Speed wireless Access Network type b) among radio stations for low power data communication systems defined in Article 6, Paragraph4, Item4 of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Law. This standard applies ARIB standard STD-T70: Broadband Mobile Access Communication System (HiSWANa: High Speed wireless Access Network type a) to the 25GHz band system. The standard also revises provisions corresponding to the Ministerial Ordinance and adds provisions relating to transmission power control, influence to radio astronomical observatory, etc. (Unique provisions for 25 GHz frequency band).

HiSWANb is considered to be applied to the last one hop for cable system or for ad hoc system composed of wireless systems only. HiSWANb is a wireless communication system which can provide multi-media services anytime and anywhere by making the best use of wireless characteristics.

Operating frequency is assigned as follows (Here, N is integer):

24.77GHz or 24.77GHz + 20MHz x N within 24.77GHz to 25.33GHz, or 27.02GHz or 27.02GHz + 20MHz x N within 27.07GHz and 27.4GHz
