1. Overview

STD Number ARIB STD-B45
Standard Name Content Download System for Digital Broadcasting
Enactment Date 04.26.2010
General Description

This standard specifies about download type broadcasting service in digital broadcasting, and this standard comprises two Parts about advanced wide band digital satellite broadcasting and terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by connected segment transmission system (hereinafter, referred to as terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by ISDB-Tmm system).

Part 1 specifies download system for download type broadcasting service by TLV which is provided in STD-B44 “Transmission System for Advanced Wide Band Digital Satellite Broadcasting”.

The system provided in Part 1 is the system of hybrid type in which content with higher needs is distributed simultaneously by using broadcasting channel, and content requested separately and licenses are distributed separately by using communication channel, on condition that broadcasting and communication work in cooperation with each other.

Part 2 specifies download system for download type broadcasting service in terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by ISDB-Tmm system. On condition of mobile receiver, terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by ISDB-Tmm system realize access to content and service without restrictions on time to watch program or place to use, by extending combination of digital terrestrial television broadcasting and communications. In actual broadcasting, service is supposed by real time type broadcasting content, download type content and the combination of them.

Part 2 specifies the service by download type content among mentioned above.
