Overview of ARIB Standards (STD-B46)

1. Overview

STD Number ARIB STD-B46
Standard Name Transmission System for Terrestrial Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting based on Connected Segment Transmission
Enactment Date 11.05.2010
General Description

This standard specifies transmission system about terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by connected segment transmission system (terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by ISDB-Tmm system and ISDB-TSB system) among terrestrial multimedia broadcasting for mobile receiver and portable terminal.

This system is adopted in national technical standard for terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by connected segment transmission system which is carried out by terrestrial basic broadcasting station using radio wave less than 222MHz more than 207.5MHz (VHF-High band) (hereinafter referred to as V-High terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by ISDB-Tmm system), and terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by connected segment transmission system which is carried out by terrestrial basic broadcasting station using radio wave less than 108MHz more than 95MHz(VHF-Low band) (hereinafter referred to as V-Low terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by ISDB-TSB system).

Among standards related to V-High terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by ISDB-Tmm system and V-Low terrestrial multimedia broadcasting by ISDB-TSB system, about standards such as coding system, multiplex system and so on, refer to each standard enacted separately.

This standard is based on the items provided in “Standard transmission system on digital broadcasting among standard television broadcasting and the like (Ordinance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications No.87, 2012)”, “Notification of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (Notification of MIC No.303, 2012, Notification of MIC No.304, 2012, Notification of MIC No.306, 2012)” about the above-mentioned Ordinance, and “Ordinance Regulating Radio Equipment (Rule of Radio Regulating Council No.18, 1950)”, and is provided.
