General Description

This standard specifies “conditional access system of the second generation for digital broadcasting” and “downloadable CAS” which are applied to standard television broadcasting, high definition television broadcasting, ultra-high definition television broadcasting, ultra-short wave broadcasting and data broadcasting which satellite basic broadcasting station broadcasts using frequency band less than 12.2GHz more than 11.7GHz, and standard television broadcasting, high definition television broadcasting, ultra-high definition television broadcasting, ultra-short wave broadcasting and data broadcasting which satellite basic broadcasting station broadcasts with 34.5MHz bandwidth using frequency band less than 12.75GHz more than 12.2GHz.

The development history of this standard is as the following.

On March 2014 Information and Communication Council submitted a report in a part “Technical Conditions on Satellite Basic Broadcasting and Satellite General Broadcasting”, among “Technical Conditions on ultra-high definition television broadcasting system” among “Technical System on Broadcasting System”.

11 June 2014 Radio Regulatory Council submitted a report of Ordinance, etc. which amends a part of Regulation for Enforcement of Radio Act concerning technical conditions on ultra-high definition television broadcasting system.

CAS: Conditional Access System

1.1 03.17.2015 According that ARIB STD-B63 “Receiver for Advanced Wide Band Digital Satellite Broadcasting (Desirable Specifications)” was enacted and download system corresponding MMT and TLV system was provided at Standard Meeting No.94 held on 16 December 2014, the provision concerning download of CAS program corresponding to MMT and TLV system is added in Downloadable CAS (Volume 2).

Also, notation of kana and kanji characters are unified, and misprints are corrected, and so on.

Also, a part of the notation of this standard in English is changed.
